Recently, as a fundraiser, the volunteers for the Art Etc. Shop in the Burlington Art Gallery gathered their favourite potluck recipes into a cookbook illustrated on every page with images of works by artists represented in the shop. Proceeds go towards promoting and supporting the Art Gallery of Burlington and its artists.
Three of my oil pastel paintings and four watercolours by Barry Coombs, my partner, are included. Yay. And I love the recipes.

My subject here is a split rail or snake fence, that I found just outside Orangeville, in Dufferin County, Ontario. These picturesque and durable fences are constructed of white cedar that grows in swampy areas throughout Ontario, especially where there is limestone under the soil.
